Jack Castle becomes first Gold Star Player!

7yr old Jack Castle has become the academies first Gold Star Player! Gold Star Player Awards are an aspirational goal for students who complete Levels 1 through 5 of our Pathway Program.

Players learn the forms required to execute consistent putts, chips, pitches, sand shots, full swings with irons and woods, including building their golf knowledge. Each level challenges the players further, enabling their games to improve and maximise enjoyment.

Just some of the skills Jack demonstrated to Master Level 5 included:

  • Combination chipping/putting test, scoring 10 or less from 20, 40 & 60 feet.
  • Combination pitching/putting test, scoring 11 or less from 10, 20 & 30 yards.
  • Bunker play – 5 out 5 balls landing and staying on the green
  • Carrying the ball 60 yards 4 out of 5 attempts with 7 iron
  • Carrying the ball 90 yards 4 out of 5 attempts with driver
  • Score 51 or less twice for 9 holes (on an appropriate length course)

The player skill breakdown for each level is as follows:

  • Levels 1, 2 and 3 – BEGINNER
  • Levels 4 and 5 – TRANSITION
  • Levels 6, 7 and 8 – ADVANCED
  • Levels 9 and 10 – ELITE

Jack’s progression beyond Level 5 now places him in the Advanced category. Jack is a Junior Cadet at Bayview Golf Club and plays regularly in our Saturday Cadets comp in addition to competing on the U.S. Kids Golf Sydney Local Tour.
